First of all Happy New Year to you all and that the year 2014 will be an exiting and healthy year!

I had a short break during the Christmas period and spend some time in the sun on Gran Canaria to do basically nothing! off course it was time to look back, but foremost to look forward. With all the updates of the System Center Suite it soon became clear that there was no lack of new interesting things to learn or to explore in 2013 and that it was more a matter of when to find time to keep up to date. During the last year I started with a lot of Configuration Manager projects, did some Windows Intune demo’s and proof of concepts and ended the last part of the year with Operations Manager projects and that is what I will start with this year.

I have updated a couple of my certifications, MCSE Server Infrastructure and Desktop Infrastructure and in the last two month I followed a training MCT Train The Trainer, which means I can now apply for Microsoft Certified Trainer. So I should say 2013 was definitely good in that respect.

What will 2014 bring and what direction will IT move and how will I adapt myself in the continuous changing environment. It seems, at least here in the Netherlands, that companies will invest a bit more in updating there IT environment and that we will see many upgrade projects on the System Center platform, more companies will start moving towards Hyper-V and in general we will move more and more to hybrid environments where we will see cloud services like Azure, Intune and Office365 as part of our IT environments.

I have a positive feeling and I am exited with the direction IT is moving. My goal is to write more and more diverse blogs this year which will hopefully attrack readers.

Have fun in general and have fun in it!
